Thursday's Meeting

At Thursday's meeting, we talked more about the fair. But Ms. D. said it would be best if we but off the fair, but we pointed out that all we needed was food and donations, we are still planning the fair. We also decide that by the next meeting everyone had to have a donation. That is more-or-less what happened at Thursady's meeting.
I really don't care what role I'll play in my service learning group. as long as it's not too boring, (I mean they'll all be boring, but you know want I mean, going to sleep boring).

FIRST MEETING

At the first meeting of the Childhood Cancer group. We started talking about a fair that one a group member was putting together. We gave ideas on what was needed and wanted. Ideas were given on how to raise money and door prices and raffles. Much was accomplished and the people in the group all were given things to bring in and get.

Suggestions for School-wide Service Learning

1: Tutoring.
2: Cleaning schools.
3: Volunteering at a Senior Center.
4: Cleaning the Streets.
5: Reading to little children.
6: Handing out papers.

Suggestions for Independent Service Learning

1: Baby-sitting for a family member.
2: Working at a local school (tutoring, cleaning after hours).
3: Working for a homeless shelter.
4: Reading to children.
5: Volunteering at the local library.

NHD Reflection

My topic for NHD was "Telecommunications", I wrote a research paper, and I didn't have any partners.
Things I learned: If I learned anything I don't remember, i.e., I don't care. I never liked NHD.
Changes for next year: I would find out the topic then begin the work-shops right away, not wait until 2 weeks before the damned thing is due to started work shops. ( I'm mostly pointing at the fact that not everyone has a computer at home and that the teachers don't always stay long enough for anything to get done, and that we always have more projects then just NHD to work on, for other classes.)

Service Learning

What I learned last year was......
I don't remember what I learned last year, because I don't care about Service Learning, I just did it to get a grade.

What I am interested in this year is.....
I am interested in doing animal cruelty awareness. I think it would be a very great leaning experience, to understand how badly animals are being treated.
